Reading the news I stumbled across this little story about the government's balls. Apparently they have spent over £12000 in three years on their individually hallmarked balls. Good to know our hard earned taxes are being spent wisely eh?

  2. Well, given the current economic climate, the price of golf balls (and you can bet they aren't buying the cheapo ones), the cost of having a logo put on each and every one and the cost of distribution, my conservative estimate would be…a shitload.

  3. It is good to know that the US isn't the only country where ponces in the government spend enough money to support a family for a year (or more) on really, really frivolous nonsense.

  4. It seems to be one issue on which politicians of the world can all agree – the best thing to do with the money they've taken off the taxpayer is to spend it on the finer things in life for themselves. Members of the European parliament are even worse. Our MPs even get tax payer subsidised food and booze in Westminster. France's top man, Sarkozy, has taken this philosophy to new levels by not only spending plenty of money but also not even pretending to do any work. He is far happier swanning round the world, staying at expensive resorts in foreign places and trailing his wife with him so that he can show off to foreign dignitaries that his bird is better looking that theirs.
